Job Title: Drywall Installer

Position Summary:

We are seeking skilled and reliable Drywall Installers to join our construction team in Saskatoon. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing drywall panels, taping, mudding, sanding, and ensuring surfaces are ready for finishing. This is a key role in residential and commercial construction projects, requiring precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for walls, ceilings, and partitions in residential and commercial buildings
  • Install drywall using hand tools, power tools, screws, nails, or adhesive
  • Tape and mud joints, corners, and seams using taping tools and joint compound
  • Sand surfaces to ensure smooth and level finishes in preparation for painting or texturing
  • Repair damaged drywall surfaces or rework improperly installed sections
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, and properly store tools and materials
  • Communicate with site supervisors and follow blueprints, layouts, or verbal instructions
  • Use ladders, scaffolding, and other tools safely to work at various heights
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines without compromising quality
Qualifications:
  1. 2+ years of experience in drywall installation, taping, mudding, and finishing
  2. Knowledge of building and safety codes applicable in Saskatchewan
  3. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and layout instructions
  4. Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
  5. Physical ability to lift drywall sheets (up to 100 lbs) and perform tasks that require bending, climbing, standing for long periods
  6. Basic tools and reliable transportation to job sites
  7. WHMIS, Fall Protection, or other relevant safety certifications are assets
  8. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed on active construction sites (indoors and outdoors)
  • Physically demanding environment; must be comfortable working at heights and in variable weather
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours based on project needs
Salary Range:
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience and skill level
