Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Carpenter-Joiner to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing rough and finish carpentry duties related to framing, formwork, flooring, doors, cabinetry, trim, and other woodwork. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality craftsmanship across residential and commercial construction projects in Saskatoon and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to construct framing, partitions, floors, doors, windows, staircases, and cabinetry
  • Install and fit trims, mouldings, hardware, and other finish carpentry items
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, saws, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
  • Build and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding, concrete forms, and hoardings as required
  • Ensure all carpentry work complies with local building codes, blueprints, and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite and ensure proper handling and storage of tools and materials
  • Work closely with other trades and site supervisors to meet project timelines and requirements
  • Inspect and repair damaged structures or components as needed
  • Follow health and safety policies and contribute to a safe work environment
Qualifications:
  1. Completion of a formal carpentry apprenticeship or equivalent journeyperson certification preferred
  2. 3+ years of carpentry and joinery experience in residential or commercial construction
  3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  5. Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and physical stamina
  6. Possession of basic carpentry tools; power tools are an asset
  7. Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and reliable transportation
  8. WHMIS, Fall Protection, and other safety certifications are considered assets
  9. Working Conditions:
  10. Work takes place at various construction sites (indoor and outdoor environments)
  11. Physically demanding; must be able to lift, carry, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  12. Standard weekday hours with occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project schedules

  • Competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and experience
