Position Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and safety-focused Construction Supervisor to oversee on-site construction activities and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The ideal candidate will coordinate trades, enforce safety protocols, monitor quality control, and serve as a key liaison between the site crew and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day site operations and ensure construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety standards
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, trades, deliveries, and site inspections
- Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements and WorkSafe Saskatchewan protocols
- Conduct site walkthroughs to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain productivity
- Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, time sheets, and material records
- Identify and address potential delays or issues and escalate to project management as needed
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials on site
- Provide leadership and direction to crew members, fostering a safe and respectful work environment
- Participate in quality assurance inspections and support correction of deficiencies
- Liaise with clients, consultants, inspectors, and suppliers as needed
Qualifications:
- Diploma or trade certification in Construction, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in residential or commercial construction
- In-depth knowledge of Saskatchewan Building Code, construction practices, and site safety protocols
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Certification in First Aid, WHMIS, and Fall Protection (or willingness to obtain)
- Working knowledge of construction software or mobile apps for reporting is an asset
Working Conditions:
- Work performed primarily on active construction sites
- Exposure to weather conditions and physical activity such as walking, standing, climbing, and lifting
- Monday to Friday schedule with occasional weekends or extended hours during project deadlines
Salary Range:
- Competitive hourly or salaried compensation based on experience
- Overtime pay and benefits package may include health coverage, training, and PPE allowances
