Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, stains, varnishes, and coatings to residential and commercial interior and exterior surfaces. This role requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to deliver high-quality finishes that enhance the overall appearance and durability of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks/holes, and applying primer where necessary
  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
  • Mix and match paint colors to ensure accurate finishes and consistent tone
  • Protect non-painted surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to avoid splatters and damage
  • Ensure all paint applications meet company standards for quality and coverage
  • Perform touch-ups and final coat applications as part of project close-out
  • Clean tools and work areas after each job and maintain proper care of painting equipment
  • Inspect surfaces and materials to determine the best methods and products for treatment
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment
  • Work closely with site supervisors and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 2 years of professional painting experience in residential and/or commercial construction
  2. Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and various paint/coating types
  3. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights where required
  4. Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and physical stamina
  5. Ability to read and interpret work orders and paint specifications
  6. Familiarity with WHMIS, Fall Protection, and other relevant safety standards
  7. Possession of painting tools and equipment is an asset
  8. Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors depending on project needs
  • Exposure to paint fumes, dust, and cleaning agents—PPE provided and required
  • Physically demanding environment, requiring standing, bending, climbing, and lifting for extended periods
  • Regular weekday hours with occasional overtime depending on project schedules
Salary Range:
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications
